Start a Chapter
Thanks for your interest in starting a chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America. The organizations has three membership levels: Middle Level for middle schools, FBLA for high schools, and PBL (Phi Beta Lambda) at the college level.
The organization also has three regional levels: National, State, and Section. Gold Coast is the section representing the high school and middle level chapters in Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara Counties.

Follow these easy steps to get started with FBLA:
- The first step to starting a chapter is requesting more information from the national website (www.fbla-pbl.org). The link to click on is where it says, "Join! Click Below to Start a Chapter." Be sure to click on the level you are interested (Middle Level, FBLA, or PBL). Here is a direct link to the national website page for starting a high school chapter of FBLA.
- After filling out your contact information you'll be directed to a PDF. This is what we call the Chapter Organization Packet (COP). Your information will also be forwarded to California FBLA. If your chapter is in Gold Coast, we'll be in contact with you.
- The COP (pdf file) will guide you through all the next steps to getting your chapter activated including getting approval from your school, finding an adviser, building your membership and having your first meeting. The minimum requirement for starting a chapter is having five members. Once the application and dues are processed at the national office, your chapter will be off and running!
