OAT Day Success!

|
Thanks to all the chapters who attended our 2008 Officers' and Advisers' Training Day!  It was a great morning at Exposition Park and I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as the Gold Coast Section Team.

If you have any awesome photos of today's event, forward them to me at goldcoastdirector@cafbla.org.  We'd like to use them here on the blog and maybe even feature them in "The Gold Post" newsletter in The Californian.

Special thanks goes out to Mrs. Wong who lead our Adviser training session, Mrs. La Croix for helping make all those copies, Eric To (fmr. Gold Coast President) for coming out to visit and help out, all the advisers who helped hand out lunches, and to the many other people who made today's event a success.   I can't wait until we all meet up again at the Leadership Development Institute (LDI).   Until then, keep checking the blog for more updates!  -Matt Gray

Newly Formed Chapters / "Adopt-a-Chapter" Project

|
*updated* Hey Gold Coast-- It's my fourth year as Section Director and I've never seen so many emails from local high schools about starting FBLA chapters.  This is awesome! We have at least 10 schools that are in the final stages of becoming fully activated and many, many more teachers and students that are bringing together their resources to start chapters.

To all these new chapters, congratulations and welcome to Gold Coast!

For all those established chapters out there, we need "Chapter Siblings" for these new groups.  Adopt-a-Chapter is an official California FBLA State Project.   This is an easy way to get honored at the State Conference (ribbons/certificates), earn points toward the elite "Gold Seal" status for your chapter, and most importantly make a huge impact in FBLA.

Chapters throughout Gold Coast are eligible to participate in the Adopt-a-Chapter program.  We have a special need for help in the South Bay (Torrance) and the west San Fernando Valley / Conejo Valley areas.

Follow this link (updated) for more information about adopting a chapter.  Email me (goldcoastdirector@cafbla.org) to volunteer today!   -Matt Gray
